Help needed to narrow our list down please:

Florence
Jemima
Violet
Dahlia
Miriam
Eliza
Iris
Polly
Constance
Edith
Helena

I don't want anything faddy, so please let me know if we need to avoid any for that reason especially

I think Polly is a bit faddy (DD's class is full of Pollys and Mollys). It's a shame, as I rather like it.

Florence is nice, as is Helena. Jemima reminds me of Jemima Khan, which is neither good nor bad in my book - just a fact. I don't like Dahlia!

Dahlia - pretty but there's a shop called this and it is gaining popularity so it could be the next TopShop really.
Constance - Reminds me of constipation so no.
Edith - Sounds awful for a new born.

I would say call her Florence or Helena, they can both be shortened and roll off the tongue.

Fabulous list!
Florence - love but getting popular?
Jemima - love but offensive in USA so puts me off
Violet - love, agree with pp that is is better as a mn
Dahlia - adore this, my favourite
Miriam - don't like, personal association so not really relevant to you
Eliza - love as nn for Elizabeth
Iris - was on my shortlist but had DS
Polly - only other one I really don't like
Constance - beautiful
Edith - fab
Helena - lovely

Florence and Eliza are the best I think, both lovely

Florence - can't get the Magic Roundabout out of my head
Jemima - Quite nice, lot of scope for shortening
Violet - possibly the next Lily
Dahlia - doesn't appeal, have never known whether to pronounce it Daylia or Darlia
Miriam - like this one very much
Eliza - no thoughts either way tbh
Iris - don't like it much
Polly - love it
Constance - don't like much, sounds very formal
Edith - Don't like the sound
Helena - may have to spend her life correcting pronunciation, whichever way you decide to say it
