I love Guinevere - but i'm not keen on Guin for short - although i'm not sure why!?

I knew a very well educated, upper middle class Guin(evere) who angered her parents immensely by becoming a stripper.

Anyway.

It's a fabulous name.

I know a (6yr old) Guineveve which is shortened to Gweny and Evy both of which suit her a great deal.

Guin sounds like a boy's name to me, though.

I like the shortened versions that yawningmonster has mentioned..
