Opinions please? Would you assume boy or girl? Just one of the names I have floating about that i'm not too sure on..

I was at school with a Hayden in the 80's and 90's. He wasn't very nice, so it has bad asssociations for me.

stillstanding · 31/12/2008 13:14

I'm afraid I think it is rather awful. Sorry.

It is dd1's headmaster's name. I can't picture it for a baby TBH.

Pesto - he was a baby at one point but fair enough! I can't imagine calling a baby Ethel/Maude but lots are these days, personal preference/taste and all that jazz

Tis Kerry, I guess it's abit more common in boys over here though. I don't know either a boy or girl named it though which is a bonus for me!

Would assume boy... but thats because i wanted to call bubba this if was a boy.... Its a girl... So holding on for next time...

ALthough our surname is H so HH might be a little much.. We shall see!

LoveMyLapTop · 01/01/2009 17:23

Like it but surely a boys name?

sasamax · 01/01/2009 17:24

I think I would assume boy (was there not a character in home & away in the 80s called this?)

Sesi · 01/01/2009 17:51

^ Home and Away is the place I first heard it. Haydn was Pippa's son.

Re the Hayden vs Haydn spelling.

Hayden just looks looks a bit odd and Anglicised to me. But that's probably only because the few I have known all spelt it Haydn. It's nice either way.

CuppaTeaJanice · 01/01/2009 19:55

It's 70-something in the top 100 boys names for 2008.

I love Haydn - you will find that people spell it all sorts of ways though...Haydn, Hayden, Hadyn, Haden, Haiden, Haydan etc.

Not keen on similar names though, Jayden, Kayden, Aidan etc.
