Can you call a girl Eve if you already have an Adam - or is that naff?

I have two boys with very biblical names, love the name Eve but already have an Adam. Would it be stupid to call our next baby if it's a girl Eve? would Evie be a good compromise???

Don't do it.

IMO.

pipsqueak · 27/12/2008 21:31

I wouldnt

thisisyesterday · 27/12/2008 21:31

i, personally, wouldn't

my brother is Adam and my great nan was called Eva and tried very hard to persuade my mum to call me Eve lol
thankfully my mother had more sense.

ComeWhineWithMe · 27/12/2008 21:31

Don't do it .

Please.

BlackEyedDogstar · 27/12/2008 21:32

Are you very religious? If you are then I think it's fine.

MerlinsBeard · 27/12/2008 21:32

i wouldn't

Amanda78 · 27/12/2008 21:32

I really think you should steer clear of Eve. Not worth the potential teasing and constant jibes. Maybe Evelyn - pronounced everlyn. Just a thought. Good luck.

Wolfblass · 27/12/2008 21:33

I agree - Adam and Eve? both lovely names. But not together...

TheRealMrsOsborne · 27/12/2008 21:33

Ok you are all saying the same as my DH and as much as i hate to admit it i know you're all right.

What about Evie?

no no no (and I am a Christian )

Pannacotta · 27/12/2008 21:35

Sorry but do you really need to ask?!
A definite NO NO...

girlandboy · 27/12/2008 21:36

I don't think you could get away with Adam and Eve.

Evie........hmm, possibly.

My ds is called Adam, and my dd's middle name is Eve, but had it been her first name then we wouldn't have called ds Adam.

PippiCalzelunghe · 27/12/2008 21:37

naff, without a doubt. sorry.

foxinsocks · 27/12/2008 21:38

no, nope, definitely no

but if you did, you could have 2 more boys and call them Cain and Abel and be totally happy with your brood

cece · 27/12/2008 21:38

No

thisisyesterday · 27/12/2008 21:39

i wouldn't do Evie either.

snoringnightmare · 27/12/2008 21:39

LiffeyanFiaRua · 27/12/2008 21:40

blametheparents · 27/12/2008 21:46

TheRealMrsOsborne · 27/12/2008 21:50

it is a law of pregnancy that you are allowed stupid name choices as long as you have come to your senses by the time the child is born

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 27/12/2008 21:53

sounds silly
we have an adam and I love the names eve and niamh but decided against that.

Boulders · 27/12/2008 21:53

Nice names but NOT for siblings. It sounds worse than a bit naff, it would be weird. They would get incest type comments.

Yurtgirl · 27/12/2008 21:54

Naff imo

ScottishMummy · 27/12/2008 22:06

no too cutsey,trying too hard
