Georgia is lovely. She will be taken more seriously as an adult with Georgia than Gemma.

Personally i love the name - but then i am biased as dd, (nearly 5) is Georgia-Mae

She has her name shortened to both Georgie and George of which i don't mind either....

prefer Georgia - timeless and classic IMO

CoteDAzur · 27/12/2008 15:41

How about Georgina?

georgimama · 27/12/2008 15:45

I like it a lot, DS George would have been Georgiana if he had been a girl.

I like Georgia and Georgiana but I don't like Georgina. Don't know why, not very different, I just don't!

I think Gemma is passé, Georgia is nicer than Gemma but can't say I really like it.

I much prefer Georgiana pronounced George-Jayna. Not Georgie-ah-nah.

wheresthehamster · 27/12/2008 17:13

Nice - but don't spell it Jorja. Horrible!

Mooseheart · 27/12/2008 17:13

I have a Georgia, although I wish I'd named her Georgiana. Had no idea how popular Georgia was!

Frizbe · 27/12/2008 17:14

There are two in dd1's year at school, lovely name.

piscesmoon · 27/12/2008 17:15

I prefer Georgina.
