Baby Brain Preventing Making a Decision on DD2s Name - Help!!!

DD2 is now 5 days old and still nameless. DH is pushing for a decision and I can't make one - grrrr. He hates my first choice (Georgina), and I don't like his (Hannah), so we have got it down to Olivia or Amelia. Annabel has also floated in and out of favour. I'm liking names ending in 'A' (but not keen on Arabella). Last name is Smith, and DD1 is Charlotte. I think Olivia is a stronger name than Amelia, but he likes Amelia. DD1's preference is for Pepa Pig, which isn't particularly helpful .

What do you all think?? We like more traditional names... HEEEELLLPPP!!!

Tortington · 20/12/2008 03:19

olive is much nicer.

Tortington · 20/12/2008 03:20

i love the name celia or cecilia - its my fantasy girls name for the kid i will never have ( nor want!)

icantdoit · 20/12/2008 03:21

Amelia pepa pig.

Job done.

seriously tho, i like amelia best, tho not sure if it fits with mary as a middle = though in our family they've all got the mary first then their 'used' name second. = Mary Amelia ??

cece · 20/12/2008 12:50

Georgia?

ElectraInExcelsis · 20/12/2008 12:55

I vote Amelia. Olivia is lovely but soooo popular right now.

Overmydeadbody · 20/12/2008 13:07

Ramona?

ChippyMyrrhton · 20/12/2008 13:25

Emily
Abigail

Kotek · 20/12/2008 13:35

in case you decide to change the second name from Mary you could try Olivia Amelie as a compromise, if you think Amelia does not flow as the second name?

keels26 · 20/12/2008 15:46

My dd is 1 and shes called Rhianna, which I chose because I love it! and its welsh(which my Dad is) the same as my ds name(Reece).

alittleteapot · 20/12/2008 15:56

Amelia Smith - lovely

saggyhairyarse · 20/12/2008 19:21

Tell him to bog off and call her Georgina. I love Gina/Genie as a NN.

LoolaBoys · 20/12/2008 19:27

I like Georgina best TBH. DN is Amelia, and was nearly Olivia. I like both of those too.

moshie · 20/12/2008 19:43

I like Annabel, then Olivia, but there are loads of Olivias and even more Amelias around at the moment, and it can be shortened to Anna, which is a lovely name in its own right too.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 20/12/2008 19:45

Annabel Mary Smith
Julia Mary Smith

TotalChaos · 20/12/2008 19:46

I think Olivia goes better with Smith.

Kiwifruit · 20/12/2008 19:46

Hi Ladies, thanks for your help. We finally went with Amelia Catherine (DH swung it by googling Amelia Smith and Olivia Smith - the first Amelia Smith we found was very sporty teenager, all the Olivia Smiths sounded decidedly odd and were into things like vampires!!).

When we told DD1 the baby's name is Amelia, her response was 'But I want to call her Barbie' .
