WinkyWinkola · 19/12/2008 21:47

I personally think it's an ugly name.

Well if you like made up names

Hulababy · 19/12/2008 22:34

I am not keen. I like a few older names, but not this one.

NotanOtter · 19/12/2008 22:35

lovely lovely lovely

a friend of mine called Wendy died earlier this year and it really has made me ponder how sweet the name is

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 19/12/2008 22:35

I think I like it unless she farts alot then she'll deffo be called Windy Wendy.

Tidey · 19/12/2008 22:36

Sorry, far too fifties/sixties sounding for me, and not in a cool way.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 19/12/2008 22:36

Oh God sorry NAO unfortunate cross post there. I also have a friend called Wendy and she gets called Wend most of the time.

NotanOtter · 19/12/2008 22:40

ledodgy Wendy would have laughed!!!

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 19/12/2008 22:41
Grin
hester · 19/12/2008 22:47

I can't be objective about it - the only Wendy I've ever known was an effing psycho. [steam coming out of ears, ten years later...]

TooMuchMakkaPakka · 19/12/2008 23:22

I know a Wendy who's lovely and sunny and full of energy and the name really suits her. It's quite an individual name though, stands out a bit - this could be a good / or a bad thing.

NotanOtter · 20/12/2008 00:00

yes it is Sunny

The name Wendy is derived from "fwiendy". Which is the name ??'s daughter used to call JM Barrie.

You'll sleep better for knowing that, won't you.

janeite · 20/12/2008 00:10

I really, really hate it (it's my middle name). I have only ever met two Wendys - and they were both horrible.

nooka · 20/12/2008 00:16

I think it is somehow both a bit naff and a bit twee. Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole personally. I'm sure there are some lovely Wendies out there though

Clary · 20/12/2008 00:35

I have a pal with this name and she really doesn't like it.

Made up by J M Barrie for Peter Pan btw.

ChubbyDickAndSnowBalls · 20/12/2008 00:51

I'm a Wendy.

You are all eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil.

Actually I absolutely hate my name. My dad named me after a Beach Boys song. Guess I should just be glad he didn't call me Rhonda or Barbara-Ann.

Nancy66 · 20/12/2008 12:31

I do think it's a bit plain and ordinary - i like older style names but not this one

MannyMoeAndJack · 20/12/2008 18:12

Makes me think of Wendy's?!
