I'd like to call my baby to be 'Mae' but I am having real difficulty in finding another name to go with it - either before or after. Anyone have any suggestions? (surname begins with H if it helps at all)

I know a little girl called Ellie Mae - if that helps?

snice · 16/12/2008 11:13

Lila Mae or lilly Mae?

jollyjoanne · 16/12/2008 11:16

Yeah, sadly DH's best friends kid is called Ellie May (stole our name - annoying so and sos - but can't change that now).

But try saying anything with Mae in an american drawl and it sounds like the Waltons which i am desperately trying to avoid!

And I think one month name might be enough for the baby! haha

My daughter is called Holly Mae... we love it.

belgo · 16/12/2008 11:28

Elsie-Mae.

It always sounds like the start of a sentance, that's my only problem with it.

SophtheRedNosedReindeer · 16/12/2008 12:19

Rosie Mae. Our friends granddaughter's name. I think it's fab.

Eliza May is the best on here..

I am incapable of typing it the other spelling as I hate it so much

christywhisty · 16/12/2008 13:20

I hate that spelling as well. My DD is Rebecca May but the May was named after both my Mum and Nan who had May as a middle name.
Also know an Ellie May ,Olivia May and an Elisha May

audley · 16/12/2008 13:28

Of the suggestions on here I like Mae Ellen the best
How about Mae Belle!?!

ComeOVeneer · 16/12/2008 13:29

Mae Belle just makes me start singing "maybe she's born with it, maybe its Maybelline" in my head when I read it, sorry.

sammybeth · 16/12/2008 13:31

Evie Mae

FIMBOingaroundtheChristmasTree · 16/12/2008 13:31
