I really like your names, esp Cadence and Augusta. Also like Clowance if you're looking for similar.

And welcome

twentypence · 07/12/2008 06:46

You can only call her Cadence if she is perfect. It would be handy at the toddler stage when she wanders off from tasks, then she could be both imperfect and interrupted.

The many uses of a music degree.

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/12/2008 09:32

What about Allegra? Similar but not as (ahem) pretentious perhaps?

SummerC · 07/12/2008 17:22

No, no and no I'm afraid. May be just my opinion but they are all ummm...how to say this...horrible. Sorry

mogwai · 12/12/2008 21:56

my friend's daughter is Romily and shortened to Romy, which I prefer. another friend has a daughter called Remy

piscesmoon · 12/12/2008 22:04

I only like Alice out of the choice.

prettybutterfly · 13/12/2008 01:13

Romilly ok. Romola also good. There's an actress called Romola Garai who was in the recent adaptation of I Capture the Castle (fab book too btw).

Cadence - no. Suggestion of Cadenza interesting. Carenza?

Augusta - I could be swayed. Or August? Character in Atwood book called August.

prettybutterfly · 13/12/2008 01:14

Ramona?

prettybutterfly · 13/12/2008 12:41

Romana!

I'll be interested to know what you choose when the great day finally comes. Will you post again?

It'll be none of these you know ... you'll have changed your mind fifty times!

LOVE the name cadence/kadence.

'The girl's name Kadence \k(a)-den-ce, kad(e)-nce\ is a variant of Cadence (Latin) and Kadenza (Latin), and the meaning of Kadence is "with rhythm". '

prettybutterfly · 13/12/2008 13:01

Prefer Candace to Cadence. Candida, Camilla and Camille worth a look too. Clementine? It's cute!

Rachyanne · 22/01/2009 13:41

Alice Alice Alice Alice....beautiful !!, we have an Alice, everyone who asks her name say how lovely it is !!, it isn't too common either !. xx It is always good to have a few around anyway as you know it is a well loved name ! xx If it is a popular name, it is boring after a while

PoloPlayingMummy · 22/01/2009 13:44

Cadence and Romilly are lovely. Augusta I, personally, don't like

2pt4kids · 22/01/2009 13:47

Cadence and Romilly are lovely
Augusta is awful though

LoveMyLapTop · 22/01/2009 13:52

Dont like Cadensc but Romilly is relaly pretty

sonniebonnie · 22/01/2009 13:59

I really like Romilly!

BabyBaby123 · 22/01/2009 14:42

Romilly is okay - the other two are far too poncey imo - and not in a nice way - sorry....

Rindercella · 22/01/2009 14:48

Oh no, not Cadence under any circumstances. I worked for a company where we always had blardy "Cadence Calls". Several times a day. I never really understood what it meant, and I never asked (sadly, I never cared enough to). Funnily enough, the company was American.

Elsie & Esme are both nice.

MrsMattie · 22/01/2009 14:49

Alice is lovely.

KALAW · 24/03/2009 02:21

My daughter is called Romilly Sophia, she is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone who meets her, even those that do not, love her name. As she is so adorable she does this very pretty name a great service.

It comes French villages, Jean Romilly (DOB 1715 Paris) the French clock maker to Royalty and Agustus John (Circa 1850) the English artist who named his daughter this previously surname only, as her first or Christian name. It apparently means Walker or those that like to go on adventures

How about Elsa - it is less popular than Elsie.

Washersaurus · 25/03/2009 21:12

They sound like you are trying too hard, sorry

gibbberish · 25/03/2009 21:14

Well I like them all. Especially Romilly

janeite · 25/03/2009 21:15

Alice and Esme are both really lovely names.

Cadence is terrible imho and I don't like the other two either, sorry.
