Hellooo.

We are that from our shortlist we might go for Mabel. I've already had a thread about the name and know it's "marmite effect" on a lot of you, so not looking for opinions on the first name please, but for a middle name?

I think it needs something fairly pretty to balance out it's old lady "chic", something along the lines of the ever popular Rose might be nice, (think Mabel Rose is lovely but just too many friends picked Rose recently), but am open to suggestions, TIA!

p.s. our surname is one syllable

Jane?

My grandma was Jane Mabel Smith.

Mabel Jane would be lovely, I think.

Ooh, Mabel. We came very close to calling both of our dd's this name as it the name of a very dear great-grandmother. However when they were born neither were a Mabel and we ended up calling them something different. Lovely name though. We would have had Mabel Eva or Mabel Elizabeth.
