VERY undecided about Ava....

I;m hearing how popular it is... and both me and DH are waxing and waning about the name. Surname starts with 'S' and no decision about a middle name yet, possibly Lydia.

Any other suggestions would be great!

I don't like either, sorry.

feedthegoat · 23/11/2008 18:37

I like both but not together.

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 18:38

I think Lydia is fab...

RipMacWinkle · 23/11/2008 18:40

I love Ava but agree, yes very popular at the moment.

Plonker · 23/11/2008 18:41

Sorry, I don't like either. Do you have any others in mind?

piscesmoon · 23/11/2008 18:46

I don't like either.

RubySlippers · 23/11/2008 18:46

Ava is nice

what about Eve, Eva, Evie

Lydia is pretty and under-used IME

vjg13 · 23/11/2008 18:54

Both names are lovely but I didn't know Ava was popular. I like girls names to end in an'a' as I think it sounds classy!!

RachieB · 23/11/2008 18:57

i like both

bohemianbint · 23/11/2008 18:59

I love Ava, was my number 1 if I had a girl. But then about 3 people I know used it - and I had a boy.

If you really like it go for it, but seems to be on the up!

moshie · 23/11/2008 19:32

Lydia is lovely, lots of Avas around at the moment.

Ava is gorgeous....but it seems everyone feels that way, Lydia is lovely and perhaps a little less common.

LaDiDaDi · 23/11/2008 19:40

I prefer Lydia.

puffling · 23/11/2008 19:43

Lydia is also popular now. When I last looked it was 50th most pop. I prefer it to Ava though, it's very pretty.

Mammina · 23/11/2008 20:25

Like it but every playgroup I go to there's an Ava (or Eva or Evie), so personally for that reason I wouldn't pick it. I like Lydia and don't know any apart from one in her late 30s and one in her 50s.

clairebear88 · 24/11/2008 11:23

I love Lydia plus its my great nans name so would be nice to carry it on if I ever get pregnant that is.
I also like Ava but couldnt use it as rhymes with my surname so would sound silly

belgo · 24/11/2008 11:25

Prefer Ada or Edie

Annthecat · 24/11/2008 11:34

Too many Avas, Evas, Eves and Evies.

Lydia is lovely.
