I would rather avoid a very popular name if possible and have never met another Billy so far which has been good.

personally i dont know any Avas or Kittys. i know of only one Erin, two Poppys and a few Isabellas but no Isobels.

this area seems to be overrun with Rubys, Evies, Lilys, Ellies and Ellas!

DS would have been Lydia if he were a girl. its lost its appeal now and dont think it sits well with Billy.

Ava, I have one
Also love Erin, (my Ava was nearly an Erin), and Kitty.

mickeylou · 23/11/2008 20:05

out of those i like Lottie. also like Connie - i do want a "little old lady name" to be honest. it has to be short as we have a long surname which is a bit of mouth full!ds has only just got to grips with it!

Kitty followed very closely by Erin.

OLIVIASMAMA · 23/11/2008 20:18

Oooh I lke your list Lockets -

I know an Edie and a Nell. Both are gorgeous.

Nell has flame red hair and dark blue eyes - beautiful.

blametheparents · 23/11/2008 20:19

Erin

OLIVIASMAMA · 23/11/2008 20:20

I really like Ethel.

mabanana · 23/11/2008 20:20

all very popular, dare I say it, trendy names.

Hulababy · 23/11/2008 20:26

From OP, my favourite is Poppy

BigBadMouse · 23/11/2008 20:27

Don't be fooled by the cute girliness of 'Poppy' - I have yet to meet a Poppy who isn't a feisty little ball of incredibly good fun

Mammina · 23/11/2008 20:31

Avas are everywhere
Poppy makes me think of jamie oliver..
Isabella v popular too but don't know any Isobels
Kitty is cute and have never come across one before - was it originally short for Katherine?

piscesmoon · 23/11/2008 20:32

Isobel.
Kitty only if short for something
Didn't realise Ava was so popular-no idea why it should be.

mickeylou · 24/11/2008 08:57

Thanks for all your replies. Kitty is still my favourite although I really liked alot of your other suggestions Lockets, especially Nell.

Ava - classic name; but getting popular if this is an issue for you.
Erin - personally, never understaood the appeal of this name. Sounds very hard to me.
Isobel - Not a favourite of mine, particularly with this spealling. HAlf the children in SW London seem to have this name too!
Kitty - miaow
Poppy - too cutesy for my liking on a grown-up.

OrmIrian · 24/11/2008 09:38

Erin

Fimbo · 24/11/2008 09:43

I don't think any of them go with Billy tbh. But having said that I have no suggestions either.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2008 10:05

Erin and Isobel

choosyfloosy · 24/11/2008 21:07

Kitty is lovely.

I adore Isobel, much more so than any of the other spellings - it's personal in the end!

all the others you've mentioned are nice too... can't go wrong, really

Charity?

alittleteapot · 25/11/2008 22:42

Lovely names, except Erin which i'm not keen on. I think Isobel goes best with Billy.
