Secretly, I think you know how this is going to pan out, don't you?

lunavix · 22/11/2008 20:54

In the words of Ross from Friends, veto.

ilovemyflipflops · 22/11/2008 20:56

Sounds like a name that Sarah Palin would like.

Sorry.

MeMySonAndI · 22/11/2008 21:00

Scout... really? or is it Scott you are talking about?

Wezzle · 22/11/2008 21:01

I love it...but I love To Kill A Mockingbird as well

NosfeRaahhTu · 22/11/2008 21:30

but it was a nickname in TKAM, for Jean Louise wasn't it?

And one of Bruce Willis /Demi Moores girls is called Scout, i think..

nickytwotimes · 22/11/2008 21:31

Nope.

zaphod · 22/11/2008 21:32

I went for Jean Louise instead.

Quattrocento · 22/11/2008 21:36

There's some fantastic names in TKAM. Try Calpurnia. Or Atticus. Or Alexandra. Or Maud. Don't pick a nickname as a real name. Very labelling for the child.

I really like it as a middle name or nickname but I wouldn't give it as a formal first name.

RomanCandleQueen · 22/11/2008 22:07

Baden-Powell?

Nighbynight · 22/11/2008 22:08

Scout is a popular brand of school bags in Germany, loads of school equipment has "Scout" all over it.

Agree, it has the Sarah Palin touch about it.

barnsleybelle · 22/11/2008 22:12

I love it, reminds me to kill a mocking bird.

alittleteapot · 22/11/2008 22:14

I've considered it as a middle name. would love to use a tkamb name for a child. but agree - as a first name sounds a bit try hard perhaps.
