DH likes this for a girl, but I'm not sure.

Thoughts?

(p.s. DO NOT like Angela, although Angelica / Angelina = OK)

I think its quite pretty. Angelica reminds me of the bossy one from the Rug Rats

cherrylips · 10/11/2008 10:11

I like Angelique. Also like Angelina and Angelica. I think think Angie is a really cute nick name. Also like Evangeline.

All these names are v pretty.

I dont like it, sorry. I think Annie is lovely for a girl

MrsMattie · 10/11/2008 10:57

Yeh, I like Annie, too. Cute. But DH is into long winded, feminine names.

My fear was that Angelique was a bit poncy...

Angelina is lovely, but it's just too associated with Jolie for me. Ho hum. Back to the drawing board!

Angelique is a bit to harsh in English Ithink

Bubbaluv · 10/11/2008 14:48

I prefer Angelica. Angie or Jelly for short. (I know a little Jelly - so cute)

louisejohnson87 · 10/11/2008 17:04

I love this name!!!
If I could have children I would have this name!!!

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 17:05

Angelica or Angelina, Angelique sounds a bit poncey to me, sorry.

pinktree · 10/11/2008 17:25

My friend's sister has that name and inevitably she is known as Ange or Angeeee! Not good imo.

I like Angelique though.

dont like it

quite like Angel though!

lunamoon2 · 11/11/2008 22:56

Sorry I hate the name.
I used to work with an Angelique and she was a complete bitch.

Everyone pronounced her name Angie-Leek too.

blinks · 12/11/2008 17:04

it's a bit 'diamonique'... kind of cheapens the name.

CrushWithEyeliner · 12/11/2008 17:06

I have an Angelina, I think it's nicer...suppose I would though

TheNewsMonger · 12/11/2008 18:14

I don't like this much. I agree Angel is a cool nn, but on balance, still no.

I'd choose another name, and let 'Angel' evolve as a some time nn.

MrsMattie · 13/11/2008 04:51

lol@blinks. Yeh, that was one of my arguments against the name to DH. I don't want anything remotely 'ghetto'. No random '-iques' or '-ishas', please. It's a shame we aren't French. It sounds so lovely said in a thick Parisian accent Unfortunately we are both Londoners...

Ah well - back to the drawing board.
