I love Keir and Romy

Nancy66 · 09/11/2008 17:06

I like Angus - I actually really do love Jesse but it's one that you can see trouble ahead with. also (if you have Scottish family) worth remembering that the Scots more than the English use 'Jesse' as a term of abuse when describing a sissy boy.

Romy is nice - not keen on Linus or Keir and Mhairi sounds like an Indian takeaway

Lionstar · 09/11/2008 17:08

Keir has been on my list for ages, sadly DP is vetoing

AbbeyA · 09/11/2008 17:23

I don't like any-sorry.

LaDiDaDi · 09/11/2008 17:25

I love Angus.

I also really like Linus but wouldn't do two L names together.

I like Romy more than Mhairi.

dinkymum · 09/11/2008 17:26

Romy nad Jesse are lovely IMO, hope thats some help?

yama · 09/11/2008 17:27

Love Mhairi and Romy.

Only like Keir out of the boys names. Angus should be cool but somehow I think 'Aberdeen Angus' when I hear it.

PeppermintPatty · 09/11/2008 17:30

I love Angus, Mhairi and Romy.

LunarSea · 09/11/2008 18:05

Like Angus and Mhairi (although if you're not actually living in Scotland you'll probazbly spend a lot of time explaining that it's pronounced Va-ree rather that Ma-ree or Mary).

LynetteScavo · 09/11/2008 18:07

Love, love, love Angus and Linus!

Romy is lovely - I've never heard it before.

beanieb · 09/11/2008 18:13

I love Mhairi and Romy

Liffey · 09/11/2008 18:19

Angus - like this but prefur Fergus
Linus - ok, it would grow on me.
Keir - don't hate it but it makes me think of kir royale
Jesse - definitely not.

Mhairi - maybe as a nn for something. I haven't got a notion how to pronounce this jumble of letters. That's my first reaction.

Romy - lovely, especially if a nn for the extremely classy and unusual 'Rosemary'

Romy or Angus/Fergus

Liffey · 09/11/2008 18:21

I like Iona and Magnus too.
For girls, Jeannie or Elsa short for Elspeth.

What about Roisín Mhairi with nn of Romy?

Scotia · 09/11/2008 18:41

If ds2 had been a girl, he was going to be called Mhairi. I like Keir too, ds2 will be Kerr.

I also have a Rhona and a Ross if you're looking for suggestions.

FlirtyThirty · 10/11/2008 12:44

I like Angus and Mhairi from your list - in part because I know lovely ones of each!

What about Fraser, Hamish or Callum?
Or Isla, Ailsa, Cara for a gilr?

LuLuBai · 10/11/2008 13:31

Love Angus!!!

For girls I would go with Romy. Mhairi is a little tricky.

(Have you considered Bruce or Isla - they would both be on my list if I were having a Scottish baby)
