I'm 10weeks pregnant so too early really with no.3 to be thinking sbout names but dh and I are already disagreeing!

He suggested Zak which I love but then said he would like Zaky. I do not like Zaky.

Also I suggested Mimi for a girl which he says sounds stupid amoung other things.

Help us resolve the argument!

Not that keen on either, sorry. Def don't like Zaky. Prefer full versions of names for birth certificates anyway - so for me would have to be Zackary or Zachariah

mumof2andabit · 02/11/2008 21:45

Dh cant believe he got a response so quick hehehehe

Zachary is nice - Zaky isn't a name, is it?

Not keen on Mimi personally but ok as a nickname

Plonker · 02/11/2008 21:47

Love Zak (prefer the spelling Zac but then i would use it as a shortened form of Zachary or Isaac)

Mimi is a cute affectionate nickname but i wouldn't use it on the birth certificate. We have a Mia which we shorten (or should i say lengthen) to Mimi

mishymoo · 02/11/2008 21:47

Zak is great but not Zaky and prefer the spelling to be Zach! You will always be correcting people if you spell it with a K! Not keen on Mimi though!

asdmumandteacher · 02/11/2008 21:48

I agree with Hulababy

violetsareblue · 02/11/2008 21:48

Agree with Hulababy, full version for birth certificate, then you could use Zack or Zach. Same with Mimi, only like it as a nn for, say, Amelia.

Cheesesarnie · 02/11/2008 21:49

i love mimi but not keen on zak.what are your dh suggestions?

Lonnie · 02/11/2008 21:49

Dont care for Zaky like Zak but also like Hulababy prefeer the full version of the name

I dont like mimi but I have REALLY bad associations with that name (imagine the most spoilt horrid child you can then triple it and your about where this child is hence for me it is a huge nono

clairebear88 · 02/11/2008 21:50

quite like Zac but not Zaky. I have also heard a few women call their neather regions their mimi

congrats though

BlackEyedDog · 02/11/2008 21:50

I like Mimi

not keen on Zak/Zaky

Dragonbutter · 02/11/2008 21:51

i personally don't like either.
zaky and mimi are not good choices.
it's a good job you've got lots of time to make your mind up.

violetsareblue · 02/11/2008 21:51

Mumof2andabit - What are your other children's names? We can then all suggest names for no. 3!

NotanOtter · 02/11/2008 21:52

I have always been known as one of those names

Hmmmm any guesses what my full name is?

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 21:55

Sorry don't care for either. They sound silly, not real names.

Plonker · 02/11/2008 21:57

ANO - Zacharius?

mumof2andabit · 02/11/2008 21:59

Zaky - is that to rhyme with Jackie or Flakey? It looks as if it should rhyme with Flakey. Not good

I quite like Mimi. Do you pronounce it Mim-ee or Mee-mee?

mumof2andabit · 02/11/2008 22:00

Mee-mee not 100% on mimi myself yet but it a shortening of my name and I like the idea of carrying something on...mind you I am also quite hormonal and fell into a fit of rage last night when our takeaway pizza came with the wrong dip

I like Mimi - my niece is know as that (also her name is Amelia)

Zaky would be a no-no for me.

mamalovesmojitos · 02/11/2008 22:15

mumof2andabit · 03/11/2008 06:42

Nigella Lawson's daughter is called Cosima which they shorten to Mimi. I quite like that......
or you could call her:
Camilla (Mimi)
Amelia (Mimi)

BlueChampagne · 03/11/2008 13:12

A friend of mine decided she wanted to be called Mimosa while she was a teenager, Mimi or Mim for short.
