Kade? Kane? Kaeden? Khar? Kai? Kiefer? What do we think?

Kiran!

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 15:28

And agree a little bit too but in a more pinko liberal way.

They're not to my taste.

needsomeonetotalkto · 01/11/2008 15:35

Kaleb

Aero · 01/11/2008 15:35

Not my cup of tea mostly but I like Kieran.

CandleQueen · 01/11/2008 15:36

Klassy!

RachieB · 01/11/2008 15:36

I like Kai the best

TheFallenMadonna · 01/11/2008 15:40

Yes, Kieran if you want a K. Or maybe Karl.

Why K?

jabberwocky · 01/11/2008 16:21

Another variation of Kieran is Kiernan. I like Kai too.

SmugColditz · 01/11/2008 16:24

In an anonymous teacher's opinion (not mine, Hell no, I'm not standing behind this one ) K named boys are almost invariably naughty.

findtheriver · 01/11/2008 17:12

My teacher friend tells me that the worst of all are those named Kristofer. She has taught two apparently. I guess any parent who feels the need to change Ch to K and ph to f for absolutely no good reason at all is pretty barking!

Flightattendant4 · 01/11/2008 17:21

Kiefer

We had a gorgeous Polish boy here in the summer, he was 11 and his name was Kamil.

Pronounced almost to rhyme with 'Samuel'.

Like there's a 'y' in front of the 'i';

'Kamyil'

and the 'i' is more like 'ee'

'Kamyeel'

I suppose it is another variant on camille, calm, herby type name. What does Camilla mean?

Flightattendant4 · 01/11/2008 17:23

I realised I'm saying it aloud when I heard ds1 saying 'Krab & Goyle' behind me!!! Not good.

TheOtherMaryPoppins · 01/11/2008 17:30

How about Keane?

AnathemaDevice · 01/11/2008 18:26

My hubby's called Keane, he hates it. He's spent his whole life having to spell it out to people and having it mispronounced. And in the last few years he's had to put up with comments about the band, who he also hates.
I, on the other hand, quite like it, but I thought you might want an opinion from someone who has grown up with the name.

colander · 01/11/2008 18:41

Kevin

BabyBaby123 · 01/11/2008 20:14

Kai is nice. Not keen on any of your others.

stopthelights · 01/11/2008 20:32

My cousin is Killian - from the Irish
Cillian. I like his name.

llareggub · 01/11/2008 20:35

What is it with K names?

TheOtherMaryPoppins · 01/11/2008 21:13

lol AnathemaDevice, the Keane I know of is named for Roy Keane and is only a baby but already I've heard people mispronouce it, mishear it, he gets called Kian a lot by others.

My ds is a kieran his 18 and loves his name

CuppaTeaJanice · 01/11/2008 21:46

If the usual spelling is with a K, like Keith, Kevin etc., then it's fine. Where the K is substituting a C, just to be 'different', it just looks a bit cheap.

Reminds me of shops called 'Krazy Prices', 'Kwik Save' etc.
