Our shortlist is: Erin, Freya, Joanna or Alexandra. What do you think?
We have a long surname starting with W and dd is Ella.

I think Erin and Ella together is a bit of a mouthful TBH.

The other three are all beautiful as well so any of them!

ForeverOptimistic · 31/10/2008 09:51

I think Erin is too similar to Ella.
Freya is very pretty and goes well with Ella.
I'm not keen on Joanna.
Alexandra is lovely but I'm not sure about having one very long name and one short name.

I would go with Freya.

barbiehouse · 31/10/2008 09:53

i wouldn't personally have 2 dd with same initial, as post could be a real pain when they're older. like alexandra as good choice of nicknames.

Pinkjenny · 31/10/2008 09:54

I like Freya.

aj13 · 31/10/2008 10:27

I would of said Erin but as you already have ella Id have to say freya.
If youve got a long surname Id say Alexandra would be to much

Sunflower100 · 31/10/2008 10:56

Thanks, tht was my feeling about Erin (not going with Ella) but I do love it.
Do you think Joanna could be shortened to Anna? Im not keen on Jo but then do you think Anna is too close to Ella??

I would vote for Freya. Maybe Erin as a middle name, a) if you do middle names, and b) if the initials work with your surname.

nailpolish · 31/10/2008 13:00

i like joanna best but actually prefer joanne

ella and joanne

stroppyknickers · 31/10/2008 13:00

Ella and Alexandra (Lexie)

bonnyb1 · 31/10/2008 13:05

I had the same problem when I was pregnant with my second girl, I was only keen on other names beginning with 'e'! (my 1st dd is called Esme). I liked Erin and Ester. I didn't have a name for her until the day before she was born (I went with a 'B' in the end!).
Think Alexandra and Freya are both nice

Cheesesarnie · 31/10/2008 13:06

freya

Liffey · 31/10/2008 13:07

Freya is lovely and goes with Ella.

Don't like Erin. It's a packet soup in Ireland.

But Esther is nice. Although, two Miss Es. Joanna is ok but prefer Julia.

Julia and Ella nice.

Lonnie · 31/10/2008 13:25

I would go with Joanna as it is the least used of the 4. Alexandra will be shortened to Alex and I agree Erin and Ella are to alike.. Freya is nice but I am not massively keep on it with Ella

Lonnie

jellybeans · 31/10/2008 13:29

Alexandra.

lizziemun · 31/10/2008 14:19

I would go with Alexandra (lexie) but that's because it's dd2 name.

BabyBaby123 · 31/10/2008 14:20

I think Freya goes best with Ella
