Annabel or Claudia

Still ages till baby will be born and don't even know if it's a girl but was pretty certain we had decided on Claudia. It now seems to be getting really popular (on here anyway) and my DH last night (out of the blue) said he prefers Annabel. Which I actually really like. Just wondered what the other wise ladies on here think?

And do you prefer Annabel or Annabella (BTW).

Really, Cluttercup? I don't know ANY Annabel's. Well, I know one baby with it as her middle name but that's all. (Am in Scotland - where are you?)

Am a little bemused by the sudden popularity of Claudia, but that might be because in Germany, where I live, it is a very 60s/70s name. (Germany has its own current great-grandparents'-names revival - lots of Lottes and Friedrichs ).

I find Annabel a bit sickly sweet, Claudia has more edge.

i like both. dd has both of these in her class. I prefer annabelle to annabel though.. annabella is abit of a mouthful..

Claudia is quite harsh - no messing - but in a good way.

Annabel is prettier but a bit horsey.

I like both Annabel and Claudia but I think that Claudia is due to shoot up the name charts so it depends on how much that bothers you. I don't like Annabella, too fancy.

I think so too (about the shooting up popularity thing). But why? Don't understand how this suddenly happens? Is it because of the fabulous Claudia Winkleman on Strictly?
