FWIW, i prefer the Jonathan James Eden combo

Mammina · 07/10/2008 15:04

Hmm, when you say it with the James in the middle it sounds fine, but Adam Eden sounds a bit strange IMO, not bec it's religious but just the way it rolls off the tongue. Having said that, if you love the name Adam I would just call him this.

gem1981 · 07/10/2008 15:17

oooh its so hard

don't want him hating us when he is older for giving him a name that he is a bit about

whats wrong with Adam James Eden? sounds ok to me

gem1981 · 07/10/2008 15:25

adam eden

but the middle name won't be used very often so he'll be called Adam Eden more most of the time.
Love Jonathan James Eden.

moshie · 07/10/2008 15:27

more most? well you know what I mean

VineGARISHtits · 07/10/2008 15:34

James Adam Eden then?

lovemybuggy · 07/10/2008 15:36

I think its fine personally, i know what you mean but Adam is a lovely name and i dont think it sounds ridiculous with Eden.Eden seems quite popular as a first name lately and i dont know any that are from a religious family so if you love it id go for it.

Boulders · 07/10/2008 21:33

Both nice names and I don't think it's the fact that both names are religious. But the boy will forever get comments about Adam 'in/from the garden of' Eden. It's a bit of a weird choice because of the strong association the two names have together and I think you/him will get comments, but that doesn't mean they will be negative comments. Adam/Eve in the garden of eden is a great story.

Peachy · 07/10/2008 21:35

If you went for Adam and he didnt like it couldnt he use initials and be A-J? vry kiddy boyish that

Liked James Adam but we couldnt have James for similar reasons (James Peach- ) so jealous LOL

dinkymum · 07/10/2008 22:42

i wouldnt personally do the adam thing just in case but thats just my oppinion

FimboGotAxed · 07/10/2008 22:54

Ooh my ds is called Adam.

We have a long surname so it works fine but I don't think it flows with a short name.

It also depends how popular it is in your area. My Adam is the only one in his class but I think it was more popular a few years ago, where you may have had a few.

There are 2 Charlie's in my ds's class and they are known by their full names to distinquish between the two.

mrsfossil · 08/10/2008 12:05

bit too religious and doesn't really roll off tongue easily. Maybe adam as middle name

gem1981 · 09/10/2008 15:57

ooooohhh it's not fair !!!!

you lot have confirmed what i already knew really -

Adam prob as a middle name then

would have gone lovely with my maiden name

OP posts:
FimboGotAxed · 09/10/2008 16:00

Double barrell your name with your maiden name?

Bathsheba · 09/10/2008 19:38

Adam Eden is a very early address...

Jonathan is nicer.

boolean · 09/10/2008 21:11
