What name do you secretly love but would never use for your child?

For me it's Silas - it reminds me of the adventure programmes I used to watch as a kid. I think one of my first crushes must have been on a character called Silas.

I did suggest it for DS1 (vetoed by DP), but thinking about it I wouldn't want to call my son Silas and I can't really explain why.

Does anybody else have a name that they wouldn't use, but really like nonetheless...?

oceana · 06/10/2008 14:05

Phoenix and Angel

My own name has been mentioned a couple of times Although I don't really know why as it's not that unusual.

muppety · 06/10/2008 14:52

Gabriel, Julian and I LOVE Ptolomy.

Instead the 3 DS have boring top 10 names. I am a bit when I come across pepole who have been brave enough to use them.

WinkyWinkola · 06/10/2008 15:53

Ptolomy? How'd you pron. that then?

Flier · 06/10/2008 15:56

Caitlin, Phylidia, Lydia and Letitia

rookiemater · 06/10/2008 15:56

I love India but due to our unusual surname it would be a cruel and unusual punishment to name a child that. Oh and I'm not pregnant and our only DC is a boy.

Eirlys · 06/10/2008 16:18

Another Mungo-lover here. And Tristan.
We also have an unusual surname which does make it harder to give your DC too much of a unique name.
