its nice, prefer Adriana though.

belgo · 28/09/2008 13:39

I like it too, and also prefer Adriana and Adrienne.

Don't think it's especially popular.

frazzledoldbag34 · 28/09/2008 13:41

It's ok IMO.
There used to be a girl at school with my DD1 called Oriarna. Quite pretty (don't like her spelling tho)

Janni · 28/09/2008 13:43

It's pretty. I haven't heard it before, although I knew a French girl called Ariane -(Ah-ree-ann).

Stars22 · 28/09/2008 16:19

I no one 9 year old called Ariana. Its pronounced A-ree-anna.

nuthacuppatea · 28/09/2008 21:37

Ariana. It's a beautiful name. I love it! I would pronounce it A ree AH na or perhaps A ree anna but I prefer the first pronounciation.

MrsMattie · 29/09/2008 16:17

I know a little Arianna (Aree-ah-na). Gorgeous.

ninah · 29/09/2008 16:36

Dd is Arianna!

harpomarx · 29/09/2008 16:37

I think it's lovely. I only know one Ariana, she is Brazilian. It is pronounced as Stars22 says.

ninah · 29/09/2008 16:45

I think it is popular in Italy too.

KTRmummyof3 · 29/09/2008 16:57

I think it's a great name and anyway anyone that doesn't you could always say that they have had their chance of choosing a name(s). If they've had children that is!
How about Oriana?

artichokes · 29/09/2008 17:14

We nearly used it for DD. We would pronounce it Aree-ah-na. I love it. Its Greek in origin.
