Verity or Caroline?

I'm expecting a girl edd Dec. We've almost (80% sure) decided on Verity for the first name.
Oh has just thrown in the idea of Caroline, I like it but I don't know if it is dated or if I prefer to Verity.
Which would you choose and what do you think of Caroline?

I think they are both nice but completely different IYSWIM!

Caroline was on our short list (my Mum is Carol so it was based on that) but I llike Verity too - I taught one once and that put me off using it for a daughter though!

I think both are nice.

Verity is realy lovely.

Caroline is nice, but I'm mid 30's and have a few friends called Caroline, and they all end up being called Caz (We're not posh enough to say Caro'

Caroline is nice, but I much prefer Verity.

Caroline - it's due for a revival imo

QueenBhannae · 28/09/2008 13:49

Oh I adore both and they were on my list for dd2.
I used neither.
Verity was discounted because when I tested it on people most dropped the t sound which would have irritated me no end.

Both nice.
Have you thought about Felicity? Similar type of name, just popped into my head! - also lovely IMO.

Tortington · 28/09/2008 13:50

dinkymum · 28/09/2008 14:34

Verity - Caroline is dated imo - okay as a middle name though

georgimama · 28/09/2008 17:46

Verity, it's lovely and has a lovely meaning.
