I have a two syllable surname and am looking for something that flows well. Any suggestions?

Ha ha HonoraGlossop, don't worry, not planning on using any of those, although they do go with almost any name!

Everlong, I must admit I am liking your Blythe suggestion. It has a lovely meaning as well. Could be a winner!

I have a Hattie and her middle name is Alice but we have a short one syllable surname so flows nicely for her

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 26/09/2008 16:38

Oh no back to the drawing board! Just realised In Law's live in Blyth, Northumberland, so can't use that.

Why? don't you like the In Laws?

HonoriaGlossop · 26/09/2008 19:28

You really MUST call her Harriet Blythe you know. It's so lovely.

Another vote for Harriet Rose. Second favourite = Jane. Third, Ruth.

wonkaland · 26/09/2008 22:38

DD is Harriet Charlotte

Eleta · 27/09/2008 08:06

Dd1 is Charlotte, so that is out. Lucy and Alice were other names on our list but not sure Harriet Alice sounds right and as surname ends in y I don't feel the middle name can.

Does Harriet Isabella sound ok? I know Isabella is very popular but it was dh's Grandmother's name and as it's a middle name, I am not too concerned with popularity of the name.

I do think Harriet Blythe sounds nice and it's not that I hate the In Laws. It's just that they would think I had named her after where they lived and (sorry to anyone from there) it's def not a place I would choose to name my child after!

dd is Harriet Jane (with 2 syllable surname)

original plan was Sophie Elizabeth, but when we ditched Sophie, Harriet Elizabeth just seemed too long...

If I did it again I would go for Harriet Florence.
