After my thread of yesterday DH and I reviewed out list last night and decided out top name is Alexandra. Although her full name would be Alexandra we would call her Alex. What do people think of Alex for a girl? Is it too boyish? Will it be confusing at school? Is Alex very popular for boys and will she have 3 in her class and then be the only girl???

Alexandra is a great name (geddit?).

Alex is also fab for a 34 year old who can't take the very long name too well all the time but loves her sexually ambiguous shortened name very much.

I know a gorgeous little Alex (Alex being her only name, not short for Alexandra) and I think it's really lovely

My dd is called Alexandra and we chose it because there's so many lovely short forms - Alex, Ali, Lexie, etc. Go for it I say. I always think Alex on a girl sounds cheeky, sassy and confident.
