I am looking for a name to go with my sons name, Oliver.

Names I'm liking are

Poppy
Elsie
Ivy
Annabella

Henry
Sebastian (not sure if this flows well with Oliver?).

I am not too sure about the girls names, they aren't very strong sounding so ideas appreciated.

Kate?
Nancy (I always have to say this as is one of my favourite names)
Helena
Not good with boy names.
Henry? (not too keen myself, but it "goes" and may suit you).
Matthew
William
Edward

Kaekae - glad to be of service! I'm fascinated by the whole business/art/science of choosing names and, as I only got to do it once, am always sticking my oar in here.

Now we're on a roll, what about

Beatrice
Emmeline
Sylvia
Dorothy
Miranda
Arabella
Harriet
Iris
Veronica
Faith
Hop e
Charity
Clemency
Grace
Patience

MadBadandDangerousToKnow - I love Sylvia! I've mentioned it to DP so many times, but like many of the names I like he hates! lol
Veronica is DPs mothers name so that's a no no! rofl.

we had Oliver down for dd's name had she been a he. She is Georgia.

I like Sebastian, i thnk it goes well with Oliver.

I think most traditional names go with Oliver TBH but I do love that name. Although we didn't use it for dc2 who is a boy, he's Harry dh went off Oliver but ds suits Harry

I know what you mean about 'taken' names. We overlooked that dh's step-grandad is calle dHarry but fgs he has so many relatives on his side, it's no wonder His nan likes it though, she has pictures of her old and new Harry's

Some of our 'taken' names were:

Ben
Katy
James

We loved Lily and ds would've been that, it's now taken as dh's step-sister has had a baby and she's called Lillie not keen on her choice of spelling, but the name's lovely

KAEKAE · 15/09/2008 16:33

I loved Lily too!! But that was another taken name! lol so was Amelia! DP has a big family and all the nice names seem to be in use already! I just about got in there with Oliver!! lmao!!
