DS is Jasper.

DH likes Hugo. I need persuading, but Hughie isn't a bad nickname.

Views please!!

(Think DH only likes it 'cos he can bellow out of the front door when they're older "Hugh - Jas" - Geddit!!)

lol at Hugh- Jas

Hugo is not to my personl taste...but it would work well with Jasper

Anglepoise · 08/09/2008 22:25

Afraid I'm not keen, though it does go quite well with Jasper. I know one who is known as Hughie with a hard G (hew-gee I guess).

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/09/2008 22:26

Like it. Goes well with your ds1.

LynetteScavo · 08/09/2008 22:28

I love it, love it, love it!
DS2 was going to be Hugo (DH wasn't as keen as me and would have called hime Hugh ) but when he was born, he just wasn't a Hugo.

LaDiDaDi · 08/09/2008 22:31

I like it but I think that I prefer Hugh.

controlfreakinfreaky · 08/09/2008 22:32

poncetastic. and not in a good way....

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 08/09/2008 22:33

Love both Hugh and Hugo.

erwfran · 08/09/2008 22:49

yes if you live in chelsea, no if you live in Bolton. Love Jasper

Overmydeadbody · 08/09/2008 22:52

I love Hugo, one of my all time favourite names (and I had a very lucious ex named that )

In fact, all the hugos I've eve known have been gorgeous.

Bringbackmybonnietome · 08/09/2008 22:53

Yep depends where you live, but I love it.

I love Hugh also, and a little less poncey if you are concerned about that, or if you do live in Bolton. Although still maybe dangerous.

I have to agree with LL, Hughie ruins a perfectly lovely name. Don't do it!

piratecat · 08/09/2008 22:59

oh god, do you really have to ask.

Love it! The son I shall never have is Henry Hugo.

Hughie, though, is best avoided if (like me) you grew up at a time when 'Hughie and Ruth' was a childish expression for being sick!

frazzledoldbag34 · 09/09/2008 13:32

Hugo equals 'Chinless Wonder' for me I'm afraid!

belgo · 09/09/2008 13:35

I like Hugo and Hugh.

bamboostalks · 09/09/2008 13:36

Love Hugo, really fab name. Hughie not so much.

nervousal · 09/09/2008 13:47

I like Hugo - good friend's DS is a Hugo - though they live in Spain - so its not so unusual

MrsMattie · 09/09/2008 22:05

I really dislike it. Pretentious.

marymungoandmidge · 09/09/2008 22:07

Nooooo - but really like Hugh...

MerryMarigold · 09/09/2008 22:59

It's okay if you're Nigerian. If not, it's definitely TTH (Trying Too Hard).

belgo · 10/09/2008 14:36

Is Hugo a Nigerian name?

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor · 10/09/2008 15:37

Love Hugo.

LOL at Hugo being Nigerian!!

MerryMarigold · 10/09/2008 19:07

It's not a Nigerian name , but a lot of Nigerian people have an African name and a 'British name' and for some reason they are often quite randomly posh, unusual English names like Hugo and Priscilla (there I go being racist...my bf is Nigerian so I am allowed!).
