*HELP* Struggling to find unusual names to go with the surname *Mann*

I'm having a really hard time trying to find names because of my fiance's surname Mann! We like unusual names but they just sound stupid with his surname! His ideas have Maverick, for a boy and Missy for a girl! The more I think of names the more I think that nothing actually goes!! It's going to be bad enough when we marry and I'm going to be Mrs Mann but think of our daughter Miss Missy Mann! He actually really likes this name! I think he's crazy! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

why not pick the names you like and then give the children your surname as well.

Ms Missy Mann-Smyth doesn't sound quite as bad.

As him if he would like that name as his own? Trust me, my first name begins with M and my marital surname begins with M. I often get the mick take n outen of me by people saying "MMM, tasty" at me.

I think Mann is a great name!

I would want to avoid extreme rhyming personally. But

Everything I can think of sounds fine.

I would avoid Ms maybe
Millicent Mann (not good)
Miranda Mann etc

Ms not good somehow, but it's sounds like a great solid British name to me.

I was taught by a Dougie Mann. He was lovely.

Not keen on Maverick. Missy would be 'OK' if you made it Missy-Leigh or Missy-something else. (Was thinking Missy-Ann but realised Mann was surname!!)

we have a M surname and named our DS Maxwell (Max). We like the M M thing. I have a friend whose daughter is McKenna Mae McXxxx. I think it's lovely.

Whats so bad about it? I refused to use my husband's name because it's so bad! Trust me, - your's is fine!
Avoid the 'M' rhyming thing, though.
I don't think it's kind to saddle kids with 'witty' names. I met a Bea Fair recently, NOT good!

But alot of names will work with a middle name.

Mann is a fine name.

But I would persoanlly avoid alliteration - in general actually (eg Bertie Burton, Sandra Sampson).

But yes, loads of thinsg go with Mann.
Maybe a longer first name would be good - Alexander Mann; Isabella Mann; Harriet Mann etc.

I'd avoid 'm' names unless you really want them.

I'd stay away from Maverick - sounds silly.
Also Missy would be fine for a nickname but not for her real name!!!!
You could always go for Melissa and call her Missy for short? or Matilda ? (if you want an M name)

Remember unusual doesn't have to be outlandish. There are plenty of less used names that are more interesting than the norm, but won't provoke sniggers. I don't usually like aliteration, but one of my favourite directors is Michael Mann, and I think that sounds fine. Generally I think with a short surname (I have one too) a longer forename works better. So although I think Missy and Maverick are frankly silly, Maverick Mann has much better rhythm than Missy Mann.

Mann isn't too bad a surname and goes with lots of things.

Maverick and Missy are hamster's names, though...
