How would you pronounce it...

Tee-ann-uh like Joanna, Diana etc

or Tee-ar-nuh like banana

I really like this name and say it the first way, but have had problems with people saying it the second way (which I would spell Tiana)

But surely that's Tiana? why wouldn't Tianna be just like ANNA with a T infront??

prefer Christiana , Tiana doesn't sound like a complete name.

Thalia is nice though

3andnomore · 31/08/2008 13:34

I would pronounce it Tee-Ah-na

sorry...must read quetion before replying...dur

WobblyPig · 31/08/2008 13:37

A friend of my is called Tijuana -pronouned Tianna ( as in Tee- anna)

princessflo · 31/08/2008 13:46

I agree with you 3andnomore, I prefer Christiana to Tiana, it does sound more complete but I'm not a fan of Christ- names.

And I like Thalia too but I really want to use the nickname Tia, and Tianna (Tee-ANNA) is the only name that I can think of and I like that can be shortened to this.

Tia is a lovely name in it's own right...imo

(well, was out of the question for us, as mil was a huge Tia Maria Fan...lol...hohum...not that I ever had any use for any of the girls names I ever chose, lol)

How about Tatiana (alhtough personally wiht that name I prefer the Tayana spelling, lol)

Anglepoise · 31/08/2008 18:35

I'd pronounce it T-anna, but it sounds a bit made-up to me.

raindropsonroses · 31/08/2008 19:29

One n = T-anna
Two n = T-ah-na

platypussy · 31/08/2008 19:40

T-anna - but its not a 'proper' name is it?

3andnomore · 31/08/2008 19:57

Tiana is the short form of Chritiana/Christiane ( the latter being a very german name...not sure if it is german origin, though)

PeppermintPatty · 31/08/2008 20:10

I would say it like banana
