Is this short for anything?

but also, as per another post today, it's short (as it were) for a scottish chav

Short for Edward, just like Ted is: www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Ned

I love love love this name!!

It may have become my favourite boys name now.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 31/08/2008 18:05

I nearly nearly had Ned for DS2.

Unless you are in Scotland I would ignore the Scottish connotation.

A donkey's name.

Hulababy · 31/08/2008 18:13

Short for Edward.

I like both names a lot.

I personally would always use Edward as full name though, and then Ned as nn.
