Our baby boy is due to arrive any day now and we still can't decide on a name. Opinions please...(His middle name will be James and his big sister is Daisy).

we liked Roan for a boy but had 3 girls

Daniel is lovely though

oooggs · 17/08/2008 20:04

little girl in ds1's nursery is called Rowan

oooggs · 17/08/2008 20:05

Daniel is great but Daisy & Daniel?

Sarimillie · 17/08/2008 20:07

Daniel! Daisy and Daniel fine, imo...

moondog · 17/08/2008 20:08

Neither.
Rowanbrings to mind beardy weirdy archbish. and Daniel isso bloody dull!!!

welovepinkmilk · 17/08/2008 20:09

Daniel is lovely. Rowan too but prefer Daniel and it goes well with James (and Daisy)

LongLiveCuckoo · 17/08/2008 20:09

I prefer Daniel by far, but Daniel and Daisy ties you in to a D theme! If you have number three, will it have to be Delia or Damon?

LongLiveCuckoo · 17/08/2008 20:10

Not that it matters really, when the two children are different sexes. I think if there is a master D and a Miss D, it is not so potentially problematic.

Go for Daniel!

Polaris · 17/08/2008 20:10

Daniel everytime - was one of our favourites.

LongLiveCuckoo · 17/08/2008 20:11

Brooke Shields has a Rowan and a Greer. Both girls. Fcuknig ohrrbiel.

oooggs · 17/08/2008 20:12

I didn't mean Daisy and Daniel didn't go .

I meant both 'D's. We have two boy 'J's (not intentional) and a girl 'E' and are now having a fourth and DON'T WANT J's or E's

onlyeatsyoghurt · 17/08/2008 20:32

Thanks. Was a bit worried about the Daisy/Daniel thing. Wondered if it sounded a bit twee. Also worried that MIL would shorten Daniel to Danny then we'd have Danny and Daisy!

I love Rowan for girl or boy :0

edam · 17/08/2008 20:35

Both are nice but I prefer Rowan. Although Daniel would save on nametapes.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 17/08/2008 20:37

Rowan is a type of tree, poisonous iirc.

So Daniel, all the way here.

dizzydixies · 17/08/2008 21:26

roan
roan
roan!!!

tis lovely and takes away problem of unisex puzzle too!

PixieMoon · 17/08/2008 21:44

I think Rowan is a lovely name, for a boy or a girl.

Don't like Daniel but it's not horrible.

Madlentileater · 17/08/2008 21:49

Rowan the name of the lovely mountain ash- not at all poisonous, in fact you can make a preserve with the berries, native species good for wildlife. DS called Rowan, never been a prob re gender neutral.
