What do you think of Lilian or Lillian shortened to Lily?

V pretty but also quite popular.

princessglitter · 09/08/2008 22:14

I though Lilian might distinguish her from all the other Lilys, but we could use Lily as a shortened form.

I think if you want to call her Lily then there is no point calling her Lilian.

When will she be called Lilian?

Hadassah · 09/08/2008 22:19

Lilian is very nice.

Love it. Lilian. sound great. And, when she is a teenager, she can chose whether she is Lily or lilian.

cafebistro · 09/08/2008 22:24

Im sorry dont like lilian at all, like lilly though,

princessglitter · 09/08/2008 22:25

When she is a doctor she can be Dr Lilian but I think Lily is cute on a little girl.

Reminds me of someone I worked with years ago...she was Russian(I think)and sat making a meal from her nostils!

What about Lily-Anne?

solo · 10/08/2008 13:44

Lily-Anna

solo · 10/08/2008 13:45

One of my aunts is Lillian, but has never been called by that. She hates it.

princessglitter · 10/08/2008 13:47

Ah, well I already have a Lily-Rose but am thinking of changing it to Lilian Rose as am worried her name is too popular. Don't really want a hyphen name again, I regret giving her a hyphen name. The alternative is to keep her name as it is, but ditch the hyphen.

I like Lillian. She happens to be a very feisty (older) character in the Archers.

solo · 10/08/2008 13:49

Lily-Rose is beautiful, don't change it

blinks · 10/08/2008 13:52

there's also Lilius which I've always liked.

princessglitter · 10/08/2008 15:05

Should I change or stick with Lily-Rose
