Uncommon but not overused vintage girl names?

Me (21,F) and my husband (25,M) are having our first child. I'm due in February so I have some more time to choose. My husband and I want a vintage name, we don't want a overused name. We want a simple vintage name that is easy to spell that is still vintage.

@Pemba my son goes to school with an Alan. Needless to say, he's the only one in the WHOLE school. I like to think his parents are way ahead of the curve 😊

@LardyMcLardarse , I think OP was born in 2005, so she's nearly there, but her partner is four years older.

Clara - is it coming back? Very 20’s. Or Vita. I wanted that but DH said she would be called Ryvita. Same problem with Esther - polyester.

Clara has been back for a while, it’s very popular.

Depends how vintage you want, my grandmother's names were Beryl and Doreen, some others or a similar age may be Ethel, Doris, Queenie, Stella, Ivy, Ann, Margaret.

My 10 year old cousin is called Bess, its short for Elisabeth.

My old nextdoor neighbour was born about 100 years ago and her closest friends were Daphne, Muriel and Eileen.

Just don’t give an old fashioned nickname on the birth certificate. I have a very old fashioned name, been mocked for it my whole life. It’s not even a real fucking name it’s a well known old fashioned nickname as name. And I can’t shorten it it work out a nickname because it’s already one. My mother wanted an old fashioned name that was different and nooone else would have- she could have written your post. She has 4 kids all with iIf fasioned names, my siblings were not bullied for their names because they hadn’t died out like mine had and wasn’t so ridiculous as mine. I’m not going to read this while post but every time I see these posts my name comes up and gets comments on how horrible it is. LISTEN to people who tell you the names are horrible.

I love some of the old fashioned names. But pick one that’s still in use if a bit rare. One that died out and has your young child mocked because they have an old lady name is cruel.

Not Joy it sounds lovely but I met two people who are named Joy and they looked miserable , maybe too much pressure on them with their name!

I know a 4 or 5 year old called Gertrude. I find it actually unpleasant. It could be shortened to Trudy but parent prefer the full name.
