Ridley for a boys name?

We have a shortlist of boys names now and my DH suggested Ridley for a boys name (he suggested this while looking at the DVD cover of blade runner after the director Ridley Scott)

I quite like it but wondered if it was a bit odd as it tends to be used as a surname rather than a christian name.

What do you guys think - -one to keep or one to drop off the list

Jacob, Felix and Gabriel are lovely. Ridley's ok I guess - I went to school with a Ridley and he was quite a cool character, so seeing someone wear it well has softened my attitude towards it.

When I was with my ex husband his mum's maiden name was Ridley and I said it'd be nice to use that if we ever had a boy.

fastforward 6 years and I bumped into ex's brother and wife and their new baby girl - who was called...Ridley.

I like it (but then I like the book. Although it is odd. Iirc, Punch & Judy stories have become semi-religious myths...)

Of your others, I love Felix & Gabriel. We're swamped with Oscar's round here, but depends where you are....

Felix was poncy about 15 yrs ago. Now it's just a normal name with a modern feel I think.

Ridley? No. That is a Bogan name and that will be a $200 dollar fine. It's up to you. I'm going to donate all the money I collect in fines and give it to charity.

Ridley is awful, sorry.

Gabriel - gorgeous
Felix (for a middle name) - not fond but as a middle name, fair enough
Oscar - love it
John - not for me
Jacob - love it
