I'm in a pickle! I love the name Cora for my second.child but one of my husband's best friends dog is called Kora.... We don't see them often at all (well not since we had our first child and we're busy all the time) , but would it be weird if we had a child named like their dog? She's not young so they probably wouldn't overlap for too long!

I think it would be fine to use it.

Absolutely fine.

People will love the name more if she’s named after friends dog x

Half the dogs of the UK have human names. When I was pregnant with DS, hence thinking of names, I would be walking on Hampstead Heath and someone would call “Poppy!’ or ‘Stanley!’ and sometimes Poppy or Stanley was a child and sometimes a Labrador.

Totally fine! It will be a source of amusement for Kora's owners for about 5 mins and then it will just be baby's name.

If you love the name this would be a silly reason to not use it.

Totally fine! Lovely name. Congratulations!

Cora is a beautiful name. I think it’d definitely be fine to use it.

It's fine.

Apart from Rover, I don't really think there are dog names as such. They just have human names.
