I’m pregnant again! Yay!
I’m too early in pregnancy to know if I’ll be having a boy or a girl but I have girl names covered.

I already have a son, his name is Alessio. I want to keep the Italian theme going (I’m from Sicily originally & my husband is from Venezuela— Italian names translate well into Spanish & English) but I’m having a hard time finding other Italian boy names I like.

Any suggestions welcome

I teach an Italian boy called Gabe. His full name is Gabriele - English spelling Gabriel. He's proud of his Italian heritage.

Some of this list is... unusual!

Have you ever met an Italian called Naum or Abacuc?!

@tardive , They are names from the Bible.

Joshua, Samuel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Baruch, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John
Timothy, Titus, Philemon, James, Peter, John, Jude

FWIW, I've never met an Italian called Alessio, Luca, Matteo, Gabriele, Rocco, Leonardo, Raffaele,...

I know a Federico, known as Fede and I’ve always liked it.

I’d be wary of Luca - there are two in my son’s class at school and not an Italian among them, so I think it’s become a bit trendy.

These names are not common in Italy though. They are Italian translations of Biblical names but aren't really used. I have met an Alessio, many Lucas, many Matteos, many Gabrieles, many Leonardos and while I have not met a man named Raffaele, I met a woman named Raffaela, and while I've never met someone with the first name 'Rocco' I did know someone with the surname Rocca! 😄

I know people with names like Luca and Matteo but they're not Italian.

Cosimo. I’d have loved to use it for my son, but neither me nor my husband have Italian heritage so I thought it would have been a bit strange. There are so many gorgeous Italian names.
