Thoughts on baby name Felicity?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Absolutely lovely name!

FatLarrysBanned · Yesterday 16:21

I have a 16yo Felicity and she loves it. She gets lots of comments on how much people like her name when she introduces herself.

luckylavender · Yesterday 16:25

I love it.

SunshineSpice · Yesterday 16:27

I love it and the meaning is lovely

BigBadPotato · Yesterday 16:32

It was on my shortlist for my daughter, along with Marianne, Charlotte, Alice and Emma. It’s along those lines imo. I liked Fliss as a nickname. Plus I know a fantastic Felicity known as Fliss, so I guess that coloured it more favourably too.

SillyBoyChuckie · Yesterday 16:34

Love it. Reminds me of Enid Blyton books from my childhood. ❤️❤️

Charleymouse · Yesterday 16:42

Makes me think of Rik Mayall in the young ones.
"Felicity, Felicity you fill me with electricity"
Think that shows my age. Oops.

Lovely name.

Topseyt123 · Yesterday 16:46

I like it, including the shortenings such as Flick and Fliss.

NamingNoNames · Yesterday 19:12

It's a bit too long. I don't like your diminutives or Flick.

Not a fan - I dislike virtue names and Felicity in particular has a wet blanket/prissy type feel to me. Similar to Verity, Hope, Faith etc.

Scorpion84 · Yesterday 19:49

My sisters name everyone calls her Fliss, or flic

Giraffehaver · Yesterday 22:15

It's OK with a lovely meaning but a bit frilly

Clearinguptheclutter · Yesterday 22:20

I love it

it does give boarding school vibes but I was obsessed with Malory Towers growing up (was there a Felicity in that? I can’t specifically remember)

I know 2 who are about 8 and they suit it perfectly

RogueFemale · Yesterday 22:23

I like a lot of the virtue names but not really Felicity, and a hard no to Faith, Hope, Joy and Grace.

Yes, Felicity was Darrell Rivers' little sister. It does have an air of lacrosse about it but it's a decent name. You could trust a Felicity to do your accounts or represent you in court, she'd be pleasant but no-nonsense with it.

I adore it! My DD would have been Felicity but my DH didn’t like it….

FetchezLaVache · Yesterday 23:40

Love it!

It’s very Chalet School.

SequinsandSlippers · Today 00:02

Felicity Wishes
Book about a fairy

I like Fliss
Flick makes me think of the Aussie character
Lissy/City...nope

Francesca?
nn Cesca (although most opt for Fran)

LivingTheDreamish · Today 00:14

I do like it but as with all the virtue names there is the underlying niggle that you are putting a burden on your child to always present themselves as happy to match their name. Ditto Patience, Hope, Joy etc.
