Baby Boy Name Help !!

I’ve had my boy name picked out for ten years, my whole family loves it, and I’ve dreamed about a little boy with this name for years.
Now, I’m pregnant, I go in for an ultrasound and they tell me it’s a boy! On the drive home I start calling him the name I’ve had picked - Grayson Michael - and it is completely and totally not HIS name.
So I’m starting from scratch!
His middle name is going to be Parks, it’s my great grandfather’s middle name, so no names that end in -s, his last name starts with H and ends in an -ee sound, so no names like that either. I also don’t like single syllable first names.
Some names I like and either can’t use or just don’t fully love for him:
Griffin, Lowen, Stetson, Meyer, Miller, and Everett (if he was a girl he would’ve been Everette).
I feel like I’ve seen every name ever and nothing feels right, hoping someone has the perfect name I’ve somehow missed in all my searching!!

I like Everett! How about Hooper? Or Hunter? A bit left field I know, but I also like Gilligan!!

I have a Fletcher, that seems to be a similar theme to the other names you like?

Hayden.
Michael as a first name? Different style to the others you've listed but you clearly like it.

MirandaBlu · 05/10/2026 02:41

Since it sounds like you like Everett a lot but feel you can't use it, how about something like Emmett, Emil, Erald, Erroll, Everard, Evan, Evander? Or possibly something like Barrett, Beckett, Bennett, Garret/Garrett/Gareth, Padgett, Rhett?

From the suggestions so far I quite like Evan but how about Emerson?

Starting again after ten years is hard, so some sympathy first: it's very common for a name to stop fitting once the baby is real. Parks is a lovely strong middle name, and it pairs best with a first name of one or two syllables so the whole thing doesn't get heavy. Try saying first, middle and surname together out loud, and check the initials don't spell anything awkward. A good method is to write down ten names you like and cross out any that you can't imagine shouting across a playground or signing on a card. Use the bump's "trial run" too: call him each candidate for a few days and see which one you stop having to think about.

I prefer first names that aren’t really surnames. I’m so glad you’ve ditched Grayson, it’s awful.

Please don't call your child Stetson. It's horrific!
