Lisa?

I know it's a bit 70s but I'm starting to like it, quite, perhaps as a middle name. Also Sarah, another simple name popular in the 70s but one you don't hear much now. Thoughts?

No it's too soon! I have encountered a couple of baby Sarahs though.

MamaG · 30/06/2008 11:44

I like both. Quite a few Sarah's at DD's school actually.

Lisa was the name I wanted to be called when I was at primary school

Not keen on Lisa. Sarah's alright, in a serviceable way.

Wezzle · 30/06/2008 12:11

Agree, Sarah's timeless, I love it. It was my Grandma's name and she would have been 93 this year.

Can't see Lisa making it back into the popular list anytime soon though.

Comerscroft · 30/06/2008 12:21

The first time I heard of 'Lisa' was about 1969 and she was 5yrs old.

Lisa was VERY unusual then, considered almost exotic!

Tortington · 30/06/2008 12:23

no no no

its a shit name

sarah is a nice name - and not pinned to an era

EffiePerine · 30/06/2008 12:25

Yes to Sarah, but not Lisa. Sarah has a lovely meaning and is a classic, Biblical name.

spamm · 30/06/2008 12:25

I am soooo upset to know that I am too dated ! But Lisa has stood me in good stead over the years and I fully intend to give it to any future dd as a middle name. In my case, it was an old family surname and I love that fact about it as well.

Funnily enough, my sister is Sarah .

dizzydixies · 30/06/2008 12:26

what about Lois instead?

Comerscroft · 30/06/2008 12:31

Sarah means 'Princess'.

The little girl in the childrens classic 'A Little Princess' is called Sara.

cyteen · 30/06/2008 12:34

Ooh, I used to love that book Comerscroft :0 The loving descriptions of her clothes made my mouth water - all those rose pink silks and furry muffs.

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2008 12:42

Lisa Lashes?

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 12:43

I know loads of Lisa's must have been the Emily of the 70s.

Sarah is a timeless classic I know quite a few, my Gran was a Sarah, I'm a Sarah (well half of me is my parents went all exotic and double barrelled me) and DD1 has SAdie as a middle name after my Gran.

mazzystar · 30/06/2008 12:44

Its pretty

Sarah is more classic though

Tatties · 30/06/2008 12:46
