I need a romantic boys name preferably from history but am flexible

I like romantic sort of sounding names. I am a history nut mainly just European history but am interested in some other bits. My DS is called Alexander though I usually call him Alex. And I love Alex. But we are struggling to think of a boys name. Am not even pregnant yet. Sigh. But really can you give me some ideas??? I love Cassius but DH thinks it sounds poncey. I can see what he means but I still love it. I also like Cary (as in Grant)

i liked Xavier when i was pregnant but my partner said in Europe its a gypsie name and that put me off??? Rowan is nice and traditional and not over used.

I must say i hadnt thought of Hector but I do like the troy association.

Also, Che - I really like this altho I can imagine people always asking 20 times before they get it.

I would be wary of choosing anything too outlandish, as Alexander is a mainstream name - absolutely beautiful, but 'normal' IYSWIM. And it can sound a little strange if your children have hugely differing names ie one normal, one quite whacky. Just a thought.

Ptolemy... in a strange way i quite like, not sure i could follow through with that tho.
