Which do you prefer? Thomas or Henry?

Thomas or Henry?

Maybe Thomas so he can have an easy nick name. Both nice bog standard popular names so I don’t think it matters which one really

Both are absolutely fine, but I guess I slightly prefer Henry.

Probably Thomas. But I like Harry (which is a shortening of Henry) best of all!

It's a diminutive,like eg Molly from Mary

Strange! I’ve not heard that for either of those names, Molly for Mary seems even more odd as it’s longer. Not disputing what you are saying though

Thomas, it’s my son’s name 😊 But you’d have to be ok with the inevitable shortening to Tom, as most of DS’s friends and teachers have automatically called him that.

Thomas, because the obvious shortening Tom/Thom is good. I'd nip any attempts by teachers to use Tommy though, shudder 😳

As a Scot, Thomas would be better. You’d really only find Henrys at private school here.

In times past it was common for grandchildren to be named after grandparents, so you'd have cousins both called Anne but one would be Annie and the other one Nancy etc.
