Linda, Andrea, Sophia or Emma

Hello,
My husband and I didn't grow up in the UK, so we could really use some name advice. We've picked names that work in both of our languages (ending in -a among other things) and sound okay in English.
Here are our favourites: Linda, Andrea, Sophia, or Emma.
Are there any major no-gos here? I like them all, but I have small reservations about each:
Linda & Andrea: I like the sound and that they are not everywhere right now, but I'm aware they feel quite old-fashioned in the UK (or at least the US). Andrea also seems a bit awkward to pronounce? I guess the girl would be "Andy".
Sophia: my husband's favourite but the spelling is different in my native language.
Emma: Lovely name and we don't know any Emmas in the UK, but it's currently the most popular name in my home country, and several of our friends already have children with similar names.

We'd love to hear your thoughts or if any of these carry unexpected vibes!

Of course all of these are fine but as someone who has a very foreign sounding first name I'd like to make sure that the child will not have to spell their name every time they introduce themselves!

I love Andrea - but it sounds awful in some accents

Sophie (love it too) is much nicer than Sophia

Emma is alright

Not to keen on Linda

I would not choose Linda. Others it would depend on middle names and surname.

Just checked the website:average Cecilia is 72 years old, average Emma is 11, average Andrea is 31 and average Linda is 21 years old (again this is not the UK, just to illustrate that different countries have different waves of popularity).

Does it matter if it seems old fashioned it will be youd childs name, and will be young and fresh because its her name, and will grow with her.

Youve listed fairly classic names. Some might seem old and a 70 year old, but someone 70 years ago looked at their baby and choose that name too.

Wait until baby is born and decide what suits her.

I like Andrea. It's Shakespearian.

I'd go for Emma, more classic and less dated than Linda, not as popular as Sophia.
Andrea has a pronounciation issue though Andi is cute.

I think you would be about 10-15 years ahead of the curve with Linda and Andrea - they will come back round when they stop being old-fashioned and start to feel fresh again, and considering that things like June and Barbara are reappearing I think the names from the 1950s and 60s - Helen, Joanne, Nicola, Claire et al - will be back in fashion soon enough.

So I think they are all usable and I personally like Emma best. I also think Diana is a lovely name. What about Dinah or Lindsay.

I think that Don Andrea in The Spanish Tragedy (by Thomas Kyd) was the inspiration for the ghost in Hamlet.

I like Linda.

Linda means beautiful in Spanish, I think. Interesting that it’s a name popular for people aged 21!

i love the name Lydia in Jane Austen, but in real life I’ve met a few of them and they were absolutely awful.

Linda means beautiful in Spanish in Latin.

I only know one Lydia and she's lovely.

How about Belinda and Linda /Lindy as family name ?
Sophie is classic but very common
Andrea is another name that suits child or adult . I don’t feel it’s particularly dated just uncommon .
Emma classic very pretty but very common
Go with what you love your child your choice .
Compared to some of the names around these days they are all lovely names for a little girl .

If you like Diana go for that - by the time she is an adult her generation will only have the vaguest knowledge of the name and history of the current King’s long dead mother or grandmother

When I was young the name Grace was associated with Princess Grace of Monaco, but now it's just a girl's name.
I know a few adult Dianas (different spellings according to where they're from) and don't really make more than a passing link to Princess Diana.

Sofia/Sophia - lovely but really common.
Emma - again really pretty but a little dated
Linda - don't do it, you might as well name her Sharon
Andrea - how about Alexandra?
