Thoughts on my name combos before presenting them to DH. First Child. Surname is McBriar. Be as honest as you like - I can take it!

Also...any other suggestions most welcome! Favourite names are quite traditional, often French-influenced

Girl (I like feminine, sophisticated girls names)
Eloise Alexandra (nn Ella)
Elizabeth Catriona (nn Libby)
Amelia Madeleine

Boy (I like strong, traditional boys names)
James Zachary
Michael Cameron
Joshua Daniel

Thanks so much!

First of all, great names!

I have an Eloise, so naturally that is my fave. Ella is my DDs nickname too. I like it because its kind of trendy, but not too common iyswim.

My next fave is Elizbeth. We seriously considered it for DD2 (But felt it was too similar to Eloise). The only thing that puts me off Elizabeth is the pet name Liz, and Lizzie which is sooo our generation iyswim.

My least fave is Amelia. Prefer Amelie. Just Amelia makes me think spoilt little girl. Not sure if I'm being too heavily influenced by Enid Blyton, but that's what comes to my mind whenever I hear that name.

As for boys names. Josh is my fave. Sounds great. Prefer Zachary James to James Zachary. Not keen on Jamie, which is always a potential issue with James as a first name. Michael is the only name on your list that I'm not keen on.

Otherwise, Great names and I think all of them would be fab for your l.o.
