Advice on baby girl name

We are due to have our second child - a baby girl, soon and our other child’s name is Felix. We are tossing up between Fleur and Zoey for the baby’s name. Does it sound weird having Felix and Fleur. Our names also start with the same letter - think Belinda and Blake (not our real names).

What are people’s opinions or other suggestions?

I also really liked Blair and Brooke but having 3 B names and our son starting with F felt weird.

My other favourite names were Violet and Sylvie but my partner vetoed them!

I think Felix and Zoey is a much nicer pair.

I think purposefully choosing names that start with the same letter is a bit twee tbh, and also not helped by the fact I just dont like Fleur as a name. I find it a bit nothingy, more like a noise that just trails off at the end.....sorry!

I don’t think it’s a no go having repeated initials though I personally prefer to avoid

fleur or Zoey go fine!

Twinkletoesandspaghettios · 01/08/2026 08:08

Zoey goes well with Felix. Fleur does not

Betadelta · 01/08/2026 08:11

I think Zoey goes better with Felix than Fleur does (although I'd spell it Zoe).

Calliopespa · 01/08/2026 12:27

I prefer the different initials of Felix and Zoey (and ETA I like the spelling Zoe as pp said).

A pair with the same start initials always sounds like a Cee-Beebies show or clothing brand to me.

I have a Felix too. Fleur was on our list for a girl & id definitely use it for a sibling!

Peanutlicious · 01/08/2026 14:03

I think Zoey goes better with Felix but I much prefer the name Fleur

timoteigirl · 01/08/2026 14:13

Both are great. I bet other people don't even think of matching initials - you are overthinking here.

SourdoughSally · 01/08/2026 14:15

Zoe, without the y though

SwedishEdith · 01/08/2026 14:17

Zoe, without the y.

TheIdlerReturns · 01/08/2026 14:26

Love Brooke. Could it be a middle name if there are too many 'B's? Prefer Zoey over Fleur. Zoey Brooke Surname?

NamingNoNames · 01/08/2026 15:09

Zoe not Zoey

Fleur doesn't sound very nice and 2 F names is naff.
Blaire is awful and Brooke seems 1970s celebrity-inspired.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 01/08/2026 18:56

Zoë but written like this with the dieresis on the e to make the pronunciation clear.

Zoe Brooke is good.

Shloopie · 01/08/2026 21:10

I always think Fleur is a strange sound. Like bleurgh.

Zoey is lovely.

Shloopie · 01/08/2026 21:10

I quite like Blair too.

NamingNoNames · 01/08/2026 22:29

Agree with Fleur is a strange sound. Like bleurgh.
Blaire sounds like blare.

Zoey is lovely. Not spelt like that it isn't.

Felix and Fleur sounds like a naff brand of kiddie klothing.

Giraffehaver · 01/08/2026 22:41

Zoe is great with Felix

Doubletroubledoubled · 01/08/2026 23:00

I like both and can’t see why anyone should think it naff to have siblings with names starting with the same letter. That said I may be biased as my sister and I have names that do. To me Felix and Fleur go well together. Zoe goes with Felix too but definitely not with the y at the end
if you like both names equally I go with the one that flows better with your last name.

Restcoz · 01/08/2026 23:10

I really dislike Zoey. I love Fleur and Blair and don’t think it really matters how well the names of siblings sound together. They’re separate individuals and will only be known as a pair for such a short time. As adults, I don’t know the names of most of the siblings of my friends and acquaintances.

It’s Zoë, not Zoey or Zoe, and it’s much nicer than Fleur.

Me too!

ThatWhiteElephant · 02/08/2026 00:27

Zoey, but spelt Zoë.

cariadlet · 02/08/2026 01:27

I like Fleur but I think it sounds a bit twee when paired with Felix so I would go with Zoe (with the diaresis but can't work out how to do that on my phone).

It's a shame that Violet was vetoed. I think it's a really pretty name.
