Gabriel? Honest opinions

I love Gabriel. And Gabe.
All the boys names I love have 7 letters ( Dominic, Michael, Tristan to name a few).

I really like it. The King & Queen of Belgium's elder son is Prince Gabriel. I seem to remember the King saying they chose the name because it's well known across European countries

I'm not keen on it, @Elizabeth19865 -not into long names or names starting with G. Gabe or Gabs not great.

I love Gabrielle for a girl more so.

I’m not keen. I don’t like the sound of Gay bree el and I don’t like the nickname Gabe.

Lovely - it's my son's middle name.

I was going to suggest using it as a middle name.

Other than the arch angel, I've only ever known Gabrielles, so hearing 'Gabriel' I tend to think of it as a girl's name.

I would hesitate only because of the Angel Gabriel, and imagining teachers rolling their eyes if he turned out to be a bit naughty. I objectively like it as a name and also Gabe as a nn.

Really like it, better than the girls name.
