Which name is better: Mark (Marcus) or Elliott?

Which name do you think is better: Mark (Marcus) or Elliott?

Would have expected a resurgence after Bridgerton.

I expect it'll come back at some point, I'm just not a fan of the sound (I think it's the 'sigh' sound, I prefer the sound of Simeon).

I can see names like Colin and Malcolm making a comeback first.

I prefer Mark of the three. Marcus is OK. I like Elliott but it has 3 possible spellings.
Which sounds best with the surname?

Elliot is somewhat effeminate to my ears.

I have a 13 year old Mark (the name was chosen for family reasons) and it's true I never met a child/young man with that name
But who cares? We like it, he likes it, it is easy to spell, and by the time he is adult it will be back!

I really like both Mark and Marcus.

I think I would rule out Elliot because of the difficulties people have spelling it.

I also know from experience with my (much older) dc, it is REALLY helpful to have a name that hasn't been really popular in the last couple of years.
