Are Rae and Wren too similar for sisters?

Hi, just wondering people's thoughts on if the names Rae and Wren are too similar for siblings? We already have a little girl Rae and think Wren is lovely but I do think they're quite similar. My back up is Fern but I don't love it nearly as much.

They go fine together whether people like them is a different question. And for what its worth it like them and I named my DC classic names!

@waltrs55 Nell is cute actually! Will keep it in mind. Such a hard decision and don't want people to judge them/form opinions based on their names, suppose that will happen no matter what we pick!

“Rae and Wren” sounds like Scooby Doo talking.

It might be an accent thing, but I don't see Rae and Wren as very similar at all!
Personally, I prefer Fern to Wren, though.

They’re lovely names, but are very similar. I’m not keen on siblings having matchy matchy names though! Nell is also lovely.

Reminds me a bit of a woman I know/knew who had 5 daughters (in the early 1980s) and the 2 youngest ones, (not twins, 2 years apart,) were called Lynette and Lynda!

Rae and Wren are really similar to each other. I can imagine you shouting for one at the park and them both coming ☺️☺️.

Also Star Wars was the first thing I thought of.

Pretty names though.

But so are Ellen and Nell. ☺️☺️

I think don’t think Ellen goes with Rae if you wan’t that vibe.

I like Wren and think it goes with Rae it is a but samey but I’ve heard worse. I know 2 sisters called Rae and Nell that fits the one syllable.

Rosa and Fern are also nice but do prefer Wren.

I like Rae and Wren, but how about Faye or Faith to throw into the mix? Or Hope.

Sorry I also think they are too similar. Though I know other families I consider too similar siblings too!

Too similar, I think. Fern is lovely, as is Nell.

I’ve got a Wren. If I have another girl she’ll be Heron. You could do Rae and Heron.

I like Rae and Wren. No Star Wars association for me but I'm not a fan (may have seen one or two of the films but don't really know or get them). Nell also lovely as is Fern.

I’ve just thought, my youngest turns one this month, and I’ve never said my two daughters’ names in the same sentence in the entire year. It’s always “Child 1 can you sit with your sister please” or “Child 2 shall we go and get your sister from school”.
You might find you will rarely say “Rae and Wren…” and they are both lovely names.
And I’ve never watched Star Wars so I didn’t even know they were characters until I saw the comments.

How about Erin instead of Wren. They sound fairly similar to me, and meets your one syllable rule.

It's Erin, one syllable in my accent? I don't say Err-in, just Erin, all one sound/syllable as it's spelt.

I know a sibset called Rae and Ren, girl and boy.

I have siblings granddaughters Robyn and Wren. I love the name Wren. I suggested it lol.

I also have a Faith and Hope pair, and a Felicity and Verity pair lol. I admit to liking the names
