We've decided on the first name Ezra but having trouble agreeing with a middle name. I wanted to do James but he wants Liam. Any other suggestions??

Ezra James is lovely.
Alternatives to Liam,

George, obviously!

ExplodingSmittens · 14/07/2026 20:07

Ezra James Liam is nice. Do you think you might want more LOs? You might want to save a name? Smile

Cocktailsandcheese · 14/07/2026 20:23

Love Ezra James.

How about Ezra Jude?

Not James. It's the go to middle name for boys.
It's what Louise was for girls in the 1980s.

Giraffehaver · 14/07/2026 22:16

Ezra Joseph

You don’t need a middle name. If there is a name you like, or has meaning to you then use that. You don’t have to give them a second name for the sake of it.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 14/07/2026 22:22

Mine have 3 names each. They have a choice. One name is a bit limiting!

we have James and I’m not bothered how popular it might be because it was my grandad’s name and that’s why we chose it.

so for that reason I suggest starting with family names and considering those of 1 syllable to work best with Ezra, which is a great name in my opinion.

I like the name James but I wouldn't use it as a middle name because there's a risk of the child being one of several called Ezra James or Ezra James Surname.

Amazing how many parents have a grandparent called James, Rose or May.

Go with Liam. Nobody cares about middle names and it will make your DH happy.

Ezra Louie
Ezra Hugo
Ezra Thomas
Ezra Luke
Ezra Dominic

LoudPlumDog · 15/07/2026 14:33

I don’t think either particularly flow …

I like something longer like:

Ezra Benjamin
Ezra Jeremy
Ezra Atticus
Ezra Tobias
Ezra Timothy
Ezra Nicholas
Ezra Frederick
Ezra Joshua
Ezra Julian
Ezra Sebastian

KayEmAy · 15/07/2026 21:27

Ezra Owen
Ezra Mason
Ezra Carter
Ezra Dean
Ezra Tristan
Ezra Milo
Ezra Holden
Ezra Oliver

NamingNoNames · 15/07/2026 21:40

You need to include the surname to get the flow right.
He'll be Ezra Surname or Ezra Middlename Surname.

Ezra Evans isn't great and neither is Ezra James Nott.
