Matilda or Lily?

Which is your favourite out of the two?

Matilda. Lily is very overused, and Matilda has good nickname potential, as well as being lovely without any nickname.

Matilda. I know someone with a daughter called Matilda and they shorten it to Tilly which I think is a lovely nickname and a bit like Lily - best of both worlds if you like both names!

Lily. But both are ridiculously popular.

There are sooo many Matildas and Lilys about!

They're equally nice names but I'd go with Lily on the basis that Matilda seems more popular with new babies at the moment, so Lily is less likely to have three others in her class.

I prefer Lily, of the two. I really dislike Tilly, which Matilda may become.

Both are massively common in mid- teens. I’d say they’re a bit done, tbh.
