I’m pregnant with our second child. Me and my fiancé don’t know the gender yet but we are picking out names. If it’s a girl I want to name her Noelle. I prefer the name starts with an L. But can’t use the name Lily because my our first daughter is named Noble Lily. We want to keep the N names going for our girls but it’s hard to find a L name. Please help!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I was thinking Gordon...

Seriously, though, OP, there are plenty of female names beginning with L so I'm surprised you couldn't think of any.

Noble and Noelle are quite similar sounding.

Also, slightly amused you want a ‘L’ name, because Noelle is pronounced ‘ No L’!

suggestions:
Lucy
Lacey
Lola
Linda
Loretta
Lorraine

Why would you do this to your kids? Noble and Noelle already sound really similar and then you want to give them middle names with the same letter as well - everyone will just think 'Kardashians' and snigger. They're not dolls, they're individual people.

If this is real then maybe let your fiance choose instead.

OP, rethink this. As they get older, they will get medical or tax letters addressed to NL Surname and it won't be clear who they are for. I know this from making the same mistake. It's not a big thing but it's more problematic than you might think, in lots of little ways. They will get mistaken for each other. I'd go for different initials.
Noelle Amy
Noelle Gracie
Noelle Rosa
Noelle Ava
Noelle Orla

This is spot on! PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! I have the same first initial as one of my immediate family and it caused problems when we were living at the same address as personal letters were sometimes opened by the wrong person.

For a short while we were employed by the same organisation (NHS) and my family member was payed my overtime but on a different payscale as we were different grades ~ it took months to sort out!

You're potentially setting your children up for problems if you give them the same initials

Noelle and Nobel? They sound the same.

LlynTegid · 17/06/2026 13:15

A flower name if you insist on the same name as someone who by all accounts was difficult to work with.

100% this!!

Peanutlicious · 17/06/2026 13:46

Noelle and Nobel sound very similar. What about having the 'L' name as a first name and Noelle as the middle name?
